You can do hard things, but you don't have to do them alone.
Becoming a parent is life changing, but becoming a parent to a child with special needs is life altering.
When we landed in the NICU and then in the special needs world nine years ago with our daughter, Eliza, I felt truly overwhelmed – not only by my grief and fear but also by how much there was to figure out.
I didn’t feel prepared or capable, and I harbored a deep sense of shame around the sadness and jealousy that consumed me. I craved the connection of someone else who “got it,” someone who could understand my pain points and help me navigate the next steps and the big picture.
My goal in coaching is to make this journey easier for you.
Allowing you to feel seen and known exactly as you are, and empowering you to tap into the strength within you and the resources around you.
You can do this, and whether or not you see it now, you can do it with genuine joy, gratitude, and support.
Best of all, you don’t have
to do it alone.

These can happen weekly or more frequently if that would serve you better during especially challenging seasons. It works best to commit to six sessions initially so that we can really dive into your story, identify your priority pain points, and create meaningful steps.
FAQ

I have degrees and certifications in education, communication, and academic language therapy and worked as an English teacher and literacy specialist before transitioning to a full-time coaching position.
When my daughter landed in the NICU and special needs world, my focus shifted to advocacy, and that is still a huge part of what drives me. I served as a faculty member of the Fragile Feeding Institute, where I taught medical professionals and therapists how to better partner with parents in the hospital and early intervention settings and have since become a part of our school district’s Special Education Advisory Council and the national Pediatric Feeding Disorders Consortium. All these experiences have shaped what I believe and how I work, but nothing holds a candle to my experiences living this journey out as a parent.

Good coaching is rooted in relationships and fosters a spirit of gratitude, self-compassion, awareness, and empowerment, but it is not therapy. Coaches cannot diagnose or treat mental illness or mental health care issues, and unlike most therapy, sessions aren’t devoted to unpacking and understanding past trauma. Instead, coaching offers a partnership that meets you where you are, helps you identify primary pain points, and works towards finding ways to navigate the present and look to the future.

I am happy to pray with and for you during our time together, which was really helpful and meaningful for me during my seasons of crisis and in every season since, but it is totally up to you. Our time together will be tailored to what speaks to you and fosters a sense of trust and connection, and there are many ways - in and out of faith - to do that.
